Weed wasn’t always illegal in the United States. Once heralded for its medicinal value, marijuana suddenly found itself the target of the media, Hollywood, and one very powerful man. This week in time, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Marijuana Tax Act, effectively outlawing weed in the United States.
